Dave and Jenny: Wedding

The long awaited, MUCH anticipated, exclusive event of the year…AKA Dave and Jenny tie the knot. As some of you know, my good friend and fellow photographer friend Dave married his high school sweetheart and Mother of his two beautiful children this past Friday at the Firehouse restaurant in Old Sacramento. Wow, so much to say, where do I even start?

Hmm, first I’ll start by saying there was an absolute role-reversal in this wedding, Dave admittedly was the “Bride: handling all the planning and details while Jenny was the “groom” who enjoyed just getting herself ready and showing up! And Dave did a FABULOUS job selecting his vendors and details. With a little push in the right direction from me, he got in touch with Martha Andrews of Blooms and took his and Jenny’s very simple idea’s and added her artistry and what she does best! The flowers and details she put into this wedding are phenomenal. 2009 Brides who have yet to hire their florist and 2010 Bride’s who are still looking, please please please check her out. There is no benefit for me in telling you this, other than the joy I get from photographing a beautifully decorated wedding and reception!:)

I again had the pleasure to work with Joe from SJ’s disc jockey and he did some really gorgeous uplighting for Dave and Jenny which really just tied everything together. Uplighting is a great idea for your photographs because it adds this warm glow to the room. It’s a great way to incorporate your color scheme too.

It was so fun for me to shoot this wedding as I’ve spent the last year getting to know Dave and Jenny and learning about what Dave likes as a photographer himself. I know it must’ve been hard for Dave to hand that job over to me and trust me with their big day! I’m honored to say the least. Please enjoy the fav’s:

Their colors were brown and purple

Unconventionally, they got ready together in a lovely suite at the Citizen Hotel

Dave’s cuff links were my favorite!!

The boutineer by Martha

They opted to do a first look, obviously. Dave left the room when Jenny got into her dress and officially became a Bride

Sexy Sexy, right?

Dave found this cool stairway

I found this PURPLE wall which matched their wedding perfectly

In case you haven’t noticed, Dave is a little quirky

We found a Tiffany blue garage! eeek!

So, here are some of the awesome details Martha put together

Dave and Jenny kept their ceremony short and sweet

Their wedding party

Dave-the Dad/Husband/Photographer/Extraordinaire

Jenny switched into some more practical shoes

One of my fav’s

Awww what a beautiful wedding! I don’t know how you do it, photographing another photographer’s wedding HAS to be stressful! You handled it beautifully Jess, I love each and every one of these photos. Dave you must be very proud! Congrats to you and your bride!

Awesome job Jessica. Probably my favorite wedding you’ve photographed thus far. You surely captured the fun side of this couple. And Dave – wow! you sure did an amazing job at planning such a beautiful wedding. I’m sure Jenny, as well as all of your family and friends, were blown away at all of the details. Martha, everytime I see Jessica writing about your involvement in a wedding I get really eager to see your work, beautiful to say the least. I don’t think there are words to exactly describe it. Ps…Jess I love love love that graffiti wall. We will have to visit that one day for something.

From Dave: Jessica, we stopped by the Internet Cafe at our hotel in Cabo to look for our pictures, and it was worth the (only 4 day) wait!!!!! We loved them, they totally capture how our wedding felt, and Jenny looks hawt! Thanks again for taking on the challenge of taking pictures of a picture taker! Thanks to Martha and Joe as well! Its cool to see all of the hard work that goes into planning a wedding come together, and it definitely adds some perspective to shooting.

From Jenny: I LOVE LOVE these pictures! My favorite is the wedding party photo…. its just hilarious. To the brides out there.. if Jessica asks you to do something silly for a picture, DO IT! You’ll be happy you did =) . Thank You so much for capturing the feeling of the day (and for being our getting-ready DJ) We heart You!

Where do I start. Let me first say THANK YOU! Jenny is one of my best friends from Kindergarten! I was not able to attend the wedding which simply killed me, but your amazing photography made me feel as if I was there. Enjoying every laughter and feeling the love they share. From the first pictures of their shoes, I started crying. Then seeing Jenny’s face … the water works didn’t end.

I can’t wait to see all the pictures. I am sure Dave and Jenny are super happy with them.

By the way, I am a photographer too – I SO wish I had you at my wedding!!!! You did an AMAZING job!!!!!!!

WAY TO GO! YOU ROCK!

These pics are the absolute ish!! They’re freakin Amazing!! I’m trying not to curse, I feel like I was there and I haven’t seen you guys in at least 3 years if not more. Again, I couldn’t be more happier for you both. Whenever I get married, I might just have to hunt you down Dave to take my pics or call Stout photography to hook me up!! Damn…I’m excited and don’t have a man anymore to get pumped for a wedding anytime soon. Good shit though!! Peace and Blessings and I am definitely bookmarking this site to show my friends, all the way out here in Baltimore, MD. LOL ;0)
