The long awaited, MUCH anticipated, exclusive event of the year…AKA Dave and Jenny tie the knot. As some of you know, my good friend and fellow photographer friend Dave married his high school sweetheart and Mother of his two beautiful children this past Friday at the Firehouse restaurant in Old Sacramento. Wow, so much to say, where do I even start?
Hmm, first I’ll start by saying there was an absolute role-reversal in this wedding, Dave admittedly was the “Bride: handling all the planning and details while Jenny was the “groom” who enjoyed just getting herself ready and showing up! And Dave did a FABULOUS job selecting his vendors and details. With a little push in the right direction from me, he got in touch with Martha Andrews of Blooms and took his and Jenny’s very simple idea’s and added her artistry and what she does best! The flowers and details she put into this wedding are phenomenal. 2009 Brides who have yet to hire their florist and 2010 Bride’s who are still looking, please please please check her out. There is no benefit for me in telling you this, other than the joy I get from photographing a beautifully decorated wedding and reception!![]()
I again had the pleasure to work with Joe from SJ’s disc jockey and he did some really gorgeous uplighting for Dave and Jenny which really just tied everything together. Uplighting is a great idea for your photographs because it adds this warm glow to the room. It’s a great way to incorporate your color scheme too.
It was so fun for me to shoot this wedding as I’ve spent the last year getting to know Dave and Jenny and learning about what Dave likes as a photographer himself. I know it must’ve been hard for Dave to hand that job over to me and trust me with their big day! I’m honored to say the least. Please enjoy the fav’s:
Their colors were brown and purple
Unconventionally, they got ready together in a lovely suite at the Citizen Hotel

Dave’s cuff links were my favorite!!

They opted to do a first look, obviously. Dave left the room when Jenny got into her dress and officially became a Bride

Sexy Sexy, right?
Dave found this cool stairway
